Website for AAA Chamber Music Courses in Adderbury, Oxfordshire

Adderbury Arts Association runs chamber music (long) weekends in Ridgeway Lodge, situated peacefully in the beautiful semi-rural North Oxfordshire village of Adderbury.  They are open to all high-standard amateur musicians who relish the opportunity to study 2 quartets in depth.  Using a novel and structured approach, emphasis will be on co-ordination of meter and dynamics, and quality of sound.   There is also the opportunity to socialise with other like-minded musicians in lovely surrounds.   For comfort, high-standard accommodation, food, and wine are offered.  Walking is on the doorstep for fresh air and exercise if desired (there are 2 footpaths adjoining house).  A luxurious way to enjoy music, with costs kept to a minimum.

Courses are for individual musicians to form either one or two string quartets.   Accommodation is onsite and for the one quartet weekends all participants will have an ensuite bedroom in the house.  A professional quartet player will be in attendance for 3 hours during the weekend.

Meals will be prepared in the house by your host, Graham Appleton, who will also play the cello in some quartets.  It is hoped that minor assistance to the catering might be made by all!  Gin, beer and good-quality wines (as well as soft drinks) are also included in the package price.

Adderbury is easily accessible from London (10 mins M40 or train 55mins) and also the Midlands and the North.  Heathrow airport is 1 hour and Birmingham is 45 mins
